One day workshop on “Areas of Intellectual Property Rights”
A one day workshop on
“Areas of Intellectual Property Rights” was held on 20th December,
2017. It was jointly organized by Library, MES College Marampally, Aluva and
Patent Information Center (PIC)-Kerala State Council for Science Technology and
Environment(KSCSTE). The objectives of this programme was to give awareness
about various areas of IPR like Patent, Copy Rights, Trade mark, Trade Secret,
Licensing, Geographical Indications etc. to students and faculty members and interested local people. A total number of 128 participants
from various colleges were participated.
Inaugural session was started with the prayer song. Mr. K.M Abdul Jamal, Coordinator of the Programme delivered the welcome address. Dr. A. Biju, Principal presided over the function. The “One Day Workshop” was formally inaugurated by Mr. M.A Muhammed, Chairman, MES College Managing Committee. Mr. T.M Zakkir Hussain, President, MES Ernakulam District Committee & Treasurer, MES College Managing Committee and Dr. Manzur Ali P.P, IQAC Co-ordinator were felicitated the programme. The inaugural session has wound-up by the vote of thanks of Dr. Raphika P.M, HOD of Electronics.
Adv. Febin James, Trademark Attorney & Partner, Lagalities IP Services, Thrissur, Shri. Arun Alfred, Project Scientist, PIC-Kerala, KSCSTE and Ms. Jancy John, Registered Patent Agent, Kollam were the resource persons. The topics covered in this workshop included ‘Overview of Intellectual Property Rights’, ‘Patent Searching Procedures and Support from PIC-Kerala for IPR Protection’ and ‘System in India and Patent Filing Procedures’.
